Previous internship or work experience: I have worked for the Huntsville Times as a Dow Jones News Fund intern, a breaking news reporter for the Arizona Republic, a science writer for NASA-Space Grant at Arizona State University and an editorial intern for PHOENIX magazine.

Favorite reporting experience: I volunteered to work a Saturday at the Huntsville Times last summer. Weekend reporters generally work alone. My 16-plus hour day included meeting Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley, a Trayvon Martin rally, a summer corn festival and multiple shootings.
